Submission of Research Articles

Note: It is understood that your article contains only original, unpublished work and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere.

  1. Please upload your article in English in an electronic document (word, pdf; ".docx" is the preferred format) on the „submission“-Site. You’ll have to register on the website and enter you contact details.
  2. Please use the template for submitting your article. [DOWNLOAD TEMPLATE]
  3. Articles should be between 4000 - 8000 words, including references. Shorter articles are welcome and longer articles may be considered.
  4. Please read the checkboxes above carefully and make sure the submission meets these formal criteria.

Submission of Country Reports

Note: Country Reports (about the teaching and learning of philosophy at schools all over the world) are not peer-reviewed. However, they are subject to the editors' comments.

  1. If you would like to write a country report please contact the editors beforehand.
  2. The country report should follow a given structure, offer general information about the educational system or other conditions relevant to teaching philosophy in the country discussed, and describe the current situation of philosophy in schools and of teacher training.

  4. Country reports should be between 500 - 1500 words.
  5. Please read the checkboxes above carefully and make sure the submission meets these formal criteria.

Submission of Book Reviews

Note: Book reviews are not peer-reviewed. However, they are subject to the editors' comments.

  1. If you would like to write a book review please contact the editors beforehand.
  2. The review can be of a book, a textbook or any other educational material, including videos and internet resources of international interest. The review should offer an accurate description of the contents of the material as well as an assessment of its relative value with reference to similar works in the same field and in particular its value for an international readership.

  4. Book reviews should be between 1000 - 3000 words.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • By submitting you agree to have your manuscript published under a CC-BY license (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/), which permits use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided appropriate credit is given to the original author(s), the source and a link to the Creative Commons license are provided, and it is indicated if changes have been made.
  • If the submission is authored by more than one person, the uploading person hereby declares to be the corresponding author and being able to speak on behalf of the co-authors.
  • It is understood that your submission (or any of its parts) has not been previously published, nor is it under consideration for publication by any other journal.
  • The submitted manuscript has been anonymized to enable double-blind review and does not contain any explicit clues indicating the identity of the authors.
  • The submission file is in word document format (= .docx).
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • By submitting a manuscript, you agree to have the document scanned for plagiarism.
