The article provides a research overview of Lleidatan, i.e. the spoken Western Catalan varieties of the Catalan province of Lleida, located inland and bordering the Pyrenees and Aragon. The authors describe the most important characteristics of Lleidatan from the fields of phonetics and phonology (vocalism and consonantism) and morphosyntax (verbal and nominal), and provide a research overview in each case. The lexicon is largely excluded, since its description was difficult to systematize; specific syntactic phenomena are observed only in a few cases.
