El català a les enginyeries de la Universitat Politècnica de València: Dades i reflexions

Abstract

This study examines the presence of Catalan during the last years at the Polytechnical University of València. To begin with it examines the situation of the so-called “study groups in Valencian” and their correspondence with the students’ demand for these groups. Next, it exposes the philosophy and actual state of the Catalan technical subjects within the various engineering studies. Finally the results of the last years’ enquiries are presented, in which students of technical computer-engineering were questioned on their origin, their linguistic habits and uses, on their motivation to chose courses in technical Catalan, etc.
