Abstract

Theatre plays are particularly suited to the self-thematization of theatre; so are the works of J.M. Jornet i Benet such as El gos del tinent (1997). The setting, a brothel, and its actors are examined in this article using Goffmann's analytical vocabulary in comparison to Jean Genet's Le balcon as the equivalent of theatre.
