Abstract

The Glosari of Eugeni d'Ors is usually seen in connection with the essay form. However, the short and fragmentary texts of D’Ors can also be understood on the background of the Romantic aesthetic of the fragment. In question here is how the individual fragments and the whole relate to each other in the tensions between fragment and totality, fugacity and permanence, accident and necessity. In contrast to representatives of modern aesthetics, the noucentista D'Ors does not give up the claim to construct a totality.
