Abstract

The article deals with the educational activities of the Catalan reformist labor movement at the turn of the 20th century. The various stages of the formation of a working class that sees a privileged area of action in the field of education are studied. Its relationship with bourgeois reformism gives it considerable economic and political support. Its most important institutional materialization is the Workers' Athenaeum of Barcelona, which plays a key role in the educational offer that has begun and sustained the labor movement.
