For decades climate change is considered the greatest challenge nature and humanity have to face. But not only the normative questions of climate change need to be considered by ethicists, politicians all over the world debate about the right political instruments to induce carbon mitigation. As an essential piece of climate policy carbon taxation is one of the most discussed political instruments to address climate change. The article aims to examine whether carbon taxation is a fair and feasible instrument to address climate change or not and deals with the questions: Can a carbon tax be considered fair? And is a fair carbon tax feasible?
