About the Journal

ETHICS, ECONOMICS, LAW AND POLITICS is an interdisciplinary academic journal discussing relevant topics and problems of applied ethics in conjunction with economic, jurisprudential, and political science approaches and perspectives. The journal focuses on current debates and research on justice, morality, responsibility, dignity, rights, and self-determination in relation to socially relevant issues like globalisation, markets, climate change, welfare, migration, digitalisation.

It mainly publishes articles, essays, term papers etc. from students of relevant subjects. In particular, it acts as a journal for students' papers of the MA study programme Ethics - Economics, Law and Politics at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum. In addition, the journal offers all interested students and scholars a platform to present their research projects or results which are related to the above-mentioned areas of tension.

ETHICS, ECONOMICS, LAW AND POLITICS Online journal for interdisciplinary discussions on current societal issues is published by Marcus Reinecke and Klaus Steigleder with kind support of the MA study programme Ethics – Economics, Law and Politics at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum and the non-profit association Friends and Supporters of Economic and Climate Ethics.

The editors invite proposals for future special issues by students and lecturers of the MA study programme Ethics - Economics, Law and Politics. It appears twice yearly, with one issue on a particular theme and thematically mixed issues.

The internet pages of ETHICS, ECONOMICS, LAW AND POLITICS Online journal for interdisciplinary discussions on current societal issues is based on the journal management software Open Journal Systems, developed by the Public Knowledge Project and hosted by the University Library of Ruhr-Universität Bochum.   • Authors of articles accepted for publication in ETHICS, ECONOMICS, LAW AND POLITICS Online journal for interdisciplinary discussions on current societal issues must be natural persons and must have contributed to the published work.
  • Authors are asked to report all potential conflicts of interest during the publishing process.
  • Authors are expected to conduct their research in an ethical and responsible manner, and to handle personal data confidentially.
  • For the sake of transparency and reproducibility, the editors encourage authors to make their research data openly available.
  • Papers already published or under consideration elsewhere will be precluded from consideration for ETHICS, ECONOMICS, LAW AND POLITICS Online journal for interdisciplinary discussions on current societal issues. Similarly, any cases of text recycling (“self-plagiarism”), duplicate publication, and plagiarism will be rejected pre- and post-publication.
  • In line with the objective of the open access initiative, ETHICS, ECONOMICS, LAW AND POLITICS Online journal for interdisciplinary discussions on current societal issues is operated without any costs for authors and readers, through resources offered by Ruhr-Universität Bochum, the MA study programme Ethics – Economics, Law and Politics, and the non-profit association Friends and Supporters of Economic and Climate Ethics.
