Although trade unions seem to have been forced onto the defensive, especially in contrast to their presence in the 1960s and 1970s, the author supports the hypothesis that there still is a public that is interested in trade unions and their history. The author tries to illustrate which elements should be included in the representation of trade union history in order to attract a broader audience. Of major importance are the perspectives that can be identified in the biographies of unionists.Downloads
